The honourable Dr. Jean Augustine is the Fairness Commissioner of Ontario and former Member of Parliament in Ontario. Her list of accomplishments includes many historical firsts, such as being the first African-Canadian woman in Cabinet. It’s also thanks to Jean’s work with the Ontario Black History Society, that February is Black History Month in Canada.*As WHEN's Matron of honour, Jean wrote on the mission and importance of our organization:
Women’s Healthy Environments Network (WHEN) provides the kind of education and advice so urgently needed to maintain and focus on primary prevention of environmentally linked health concerns. The Network’s programs and outreach activities engage communities, support good environmental policy development and initiate participation through media efforts. I urge funders and supporters to continue to underscore the importance of the increasing environmental impacts on our lives and see the work of WHEN as essential to our community’s future."
Join our list of supporters, and send us your testimonial to be profiled on our website and newsletter!
